About Contspot
What is Contspot?
Contspot is a private graphics library and Chrome extension that lets you attach reusable images to X (Twitter) posts in one click. You upload your images once at contspot.com, then a yellow bolt button appears inside the X composer letting you attach any of them instantly.
Who is Contspot for?
Contspot is built for people who post a lot on X — usually 10-50+ times a day — and reuse the same images repeatedly. That includes traders saving chart screenshots, meme accounts with reusable templates, founders building in public, news/sports accounts with recurring imagery, brand managers, and journalists.
Is Contspot free?
Yes. The free plan covers 100 graphics and 500 MB of storage, with full Chrome extension access — no credit card required. Pro is $7/month for 1,000 graphics and 5 GB.
How is Contspot different from Google Drive or Dropbox?
Drive and Dropbox are general-purpose cloud storage built for backup. Contspot is purpose-built for the X posting workflow — it lives inside the X composer, so you never tab-switch or hunt through Downloads. Faster retrieval, search optimized for visual lookup, and one-click attach as a real image upload (not a link).
Where is the team behind Contspot?
Contspot is operated by Contspot Labs. You can reach us at hi@contspot.com — we read everything.
Features
What image formats does Contspot support?
PNG and JPEG only. Max 10 MB per file. We deliberately keep the format list narrow so the Chrome extension can attach the image to X reliably — formats like GIF, WebP, or HEIC sometimes fail at the X composer level.
How many images can I upload at once?
Up to 50 files per batch via drag-and-drop. There is no daily upload cap beyond your plan quota.
Does Contspot have image editing?
No. Contspot is a library, not an editor. Bring images you have already created or captured — Contspot handles storage, organization, and one-click attachment.
How does the bolt button know which image to attach?
It doesn't pick automatically — you do. Clicking the bolt opens a popup with your full library; you tap the image you want. The image is then injected into X's composer using three fallback strategies (paste event, hidden file input, clipboard) so it shows up as a real upload, not a link.
Does the attached image look different from a normal X image upload?
No. The image is attached to the tweet exactly the same way as if you had uploaded it manually — same compression, same display, same behavior in your followers' feeds.
Does Contspot work on platforms other than X (Twitter)?
Not yet. Today, Contspot is X-only. LinkedIn, Bluesky, and Threads are on the roadmap but not committed to a date.
Is there a Contspot mobile app?
No, and we have no plans for one. The Chrome extension is the consumption surface; the web app at contspot.com works on mobile browsers for managing your library, but X's mobile site does not allow Chrome extensions to inject into the composer.
Can I share my library with my team?
Not today — every Contspot account is a single user. You can use the same account across multiple devices via per-device tokens, but team plans with shared libraries are on the roadmap, not yet shipped.
Plans and pricing
What does Pro include that Free doesn't?
Pro raises both quotas by 10×: 1,000 graphics (vs 100) and 5 GB storage (vs 500 MB). It also includes priority email support and early access to new features. All core functionality — Chrome extension, tags, search, bookmarks, multi-device tokens, themes — is in the Free plan.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel anytime from the Stripe customer portal linked in your account. Your Pro features stay active until the end of the current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
No partial-month refunds. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. If something genuinely broken caused the charge, email hi@contspot.com.
What happens to my graphics if I downgrade from Pro to Free?
Your files stay where they are — we never delete graphics on a downgrade. But you will be over the Free plan quota (100 graphics / 500 MB), so you cannot upload anything new until you delete enough to get back under the cap.
Do you offer annual plans?
Not yet. Monthly only at this stage.
Do you have student or non-profit discounts?
Not yet. If you are running a non-profit account on X and would use Pro, email hi@contspot.com — we may extend a manual comp.
Privacy and security
Is my library private?
Yes. Multi-tenant isolation is enforced at three layers: the database (every query is scoped by your Clerk user ID), the storage layer (Cloudinary stores your images in a private folder named after your user ID), and the API (cross-user reads return 404). We can't see other users' libraries either.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. No third-party ad networks, no session replay, no fingerprinting, no data sales. PostHog runs in cookieless mode for product analytics. Sentry receives only stack traces, not image content.
Where are my images stored?
On Cloudinary, in a private folder scoped to your user ID. Metadata (titles, tags, bookmarks) is in MongoDB Atlas. Both are reputable US/EU-based processors.
What happens to my data when I delete my account?
A full delete: your Cloudinary folder is purged, your MongoDB documents are removed, your extension tokens are revoked, and your Clerk record is deleted. Backups roll off within 30 days. We cannot recover deleted accounts.
Are extension tokens secure?
Yes. Tokens are SHA-256 hashed before storage — we never store the plaintext, so even a database breach cannot leak working tokens. You see the plaintext exactly once at generation and must save it then. Revoke any token in /extension-auth and it stops working immediately.
The Chrome extension
How do I install the Chrome extension?
Today, it's a one-time load-unpacked install. Visit contspot.com/get-started for a step-by-step guide: download the extension zip, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer Mode, click Load unpacked, point at the unzipped folder. About 60 seconds.
Is the extension on the Chrome Web Store?
Yes — install it in one click from the Chrome Web Store (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/contspot/dhkkhpjeafhppipghjjfabblaojckjaj). Search "Contspot" or use the Install button on this site.
Does the extension work on Firefox, Safari, or Edge?
Edge, Brave, Arc, and any other Chromium browser: yes. Firefox: not yet (different extension API). Safari: not yet (different extension model + much stricter sandbox).
Can I use Contspot on multiple computers?
Yes. Mint a separate token for each device at contspot.com/extension-auth, name them ("Laptop", "Studio iMac"), and revoke individually if a device is lost.
What happens if X.com changes its composer UI?
The content script uses multiple fallback strategies to find the toolbar (data-testid lookups, file-button walk-ups, post-button walk-ups). When X breaks one, the others usually still find it. If everything breaks, push an update — extension users get the fix the next time Chrome auto-updates.
What if I lose my extension token?
Generate a new one at contspot.com/extension-auth. Paste it into the extension popup. The old token can be revoked from the same page so it cannot be used.
The fastest way to know is to try it.
Free for 100 graphics. No credit card. Two minutes to your first one-click attach on X.
